About Me > Bio

The name is Will Rose. I was raised in the town of Riverview, New Brunswick, where my family still live permanently. Before my post-secondary schooling, I attended Claude D Taylor Elementary School, Riverview Junior High, and Riverview High School. When not in school, I kept myself busy with music and the many sports I was lucky to be involved in.

I got my first major taste of computers in grade 12 when I created my first program using Visual Basic. In 1999, less than a year later, I graduated high school and had moved on to the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton, where I was well on my way towards a degree in Computer Science. At UNB I learned several other programming languages including Java, C, C++, and Microsoft Assembler. Sometime during my third year I received my very first computer, which only helped to feed the obsession. In May 2003, I graduated from UNB with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, majoring in multimedia.

Last year I was enrolled in the Digital Communications course at the New Brunswick Community College here in Fredericton. There I got some hands-on experience with much more in the multimedia field, including digital imaging (Photoshop, Freehand), video (Final Cut), HTML, Flash, 3D (Lightwave), and Director. By June of 2004 I had graduated at the top of my class.

From October 2004 to May 2005 I landed a teaching job at that very same college (NBCC Fredericton), where I taught web authoring (HTML, CSS, XML) and database fundamentals (MS Access, database design). Sadly, due to lack of interest, the program will not be running next year. I am now available for full-time work, contract work or freelance web design and other projects. Feel free to contact me.

Anyway, that about does it for the computer version of the "About Me" section. I only hope you enjoy my work half as much as I enjoyed creating it.
